| I was always good at art as a child. I never knew what direction my creativity would take or how I would make a living. This was what I excelled in and how I expressed myself. During my freshman year of college. I took a Photo I class. I was hooked. To be in the darkroom and watch an image come up on a blank piece of photo paper was like magic to me. From that time on I became obsessed with photography. Photography still excites me today more than any other creative media. To me, the challenge in my work is to capture an image that reflects a person's soul. I love photographing children for this reason. To make an image that will be cherished long after a person is gone is a wonderful legacy to leave. Tamara's dog, Pixel, is a Second Chance dog who started greeting customers at High Gate Gallery in December 2005. |
